ERC has been very lucrative to many small and mid-sized businesses across the country

ERC is a refundable tax credit that is a grant, not a loan. Big Think Capital is assisting our clients with various forms of government aid, in particular, the Employee Retention Credit Program (ERC), which was enacted under section 2301 of the CARES Act. The Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020, enacted Dec 27th, 2020, amended the previous legislation and extended the ERC program’s filing period. This new legislation effectively expanded the program’s eligibility requirements and now allows eligible employers to benefit from both PPP and ERC. Many people don’t realize that they are eligible to see significant benefits from ERC!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply with 1099 Employees?2022-12-01T20:31:05-05:00

Unfortunately, the Employee Retention Credit is based on W-2 employees only.

How do I know how much I will qualify for?2022-12-01T20:31:05-05:00

Every business is different, but the payroll calculations are the same. There is a lot of variability, but the running average of what we’ll be able to secure the client will be between 8-10K per W-2 employee.

What time period does this cover?2022-12-01T20:31:05-05:00

ERC applies to qualified wages paid between March 12, 2020 – September 30, 2021 (Q2 2020 – Q3 2021)

What if I already secured PPP Funding?2022-12-01T20:31:05-05:00

You can still qualify for ERC!

Why can’t I file for the ERC credit on my own?2022-12-01T20:31:06-05:00

You absolutely can! However, the process can be very complex and time-consuming. Big Think Capital understands the product extremely well. We have a team here that specializes in this program specifically and have successfully secured over $1B in refund credits for over 3,000 businesses just like yours. Our mission is to help business owners like yourself to capitalize on the benefits of the ERC program, without the extensive investment of your valuable time.

How long does the process take?2022-12-01T20:31:06-05:00

The beginning steps to the process can be completed quickly. The quicker you are able to complete our brief Questionnaire and upload the necessary documents our team will need, the quicker we can begin our analysis to determine your ERC refund eligibility. The analysis and filing process will usually take 2-3 weeks. At this point, you will know the exact dollar amount you are eligible for via the ERC program, and we will work with you to get everything filed with the IRS. Once filed, refunds are released based on the IRS backlog. Currently, the IRS has stipulated a 20-week minimum turnaround on the ERC refunds (could take between 5-7 months).

Do I have to repay the ERC Credit?2022-12-01T20:31:06-05:00

No! This is not a loan. It’s a refundable tax credit, like a grant.

At Big Think, we can help you structure the best loan for your needs. If you’re confused or need clarification about the qualifying requirements for a loan, please contact us. We’ll be happy to help.
